Vocdoni App 2.3 adds hybrid voting support, weighted voting, vote delegation and more

With Vocdoni App 2.3, we are extending our SaaS voting platform to support these governance structures more directly. This release focuses on enabling weighted voting, delegation and hybrid voting workflows in a way that remains verifiable and manageable through the platform interface.

Version 2.3 focuses on enabling governance teams to manage more complex statutory voting requirements directly within the platform. Let’s dive into the new features:

Improved support for weighted voting processes

Many formal governance structures require voting rights to reflect weights rather than a one-person-one-vote model. This is common in:

• Shareholder meetings
• Annual General Meetings (AGMs)
• Federations with differentiated representation
• Cooperatives with specific voting rights

Vocdoni App 2.3 strengthens support for these scenarios and makes weighted voting easier to manage through the platform interface. This allows organizations to run votes that accurately reflect their governance rules, without requiring manual reconciliation after the vote.

Vote delegation support

Delegation is a common requirement in many governance frameworks, where members are allowed to vote through authorized representatives. These systems usually follow either an imperative mandate (where the delegate must vote according to the member’s explicit instructions) or a representative mandate (where the delegate votes at their own discretion). This is particularly relevant for large cooperatives, professional bodies, and institutional membership organizations where direct participation is not always possible.

Vocdoni App 2.3 adds support for representative mandate, one of the most widely used delegation models. This use case is fully operational, leverages our weighted voting capabilities, and a dedicated delegation workflow will be introduced in a future update. 

Hybrid voting and much more with live censuses

Vocdoni App 2.3 introduces Live Censuses, allowing administrators to manage voter eligibility and credentials during an active voting process.

Administrators can now:

• Edit voter credentials while a vote is live,
• Remove eligible voters from the census during an ongoing process.

This provides greater operational control in real governance scenarios, particularly where errors must be corrected immediately or where hybrid voting is required.

For example, in hybrid AGMs combining paper and digital voting, Live Censuses allow administrators to remove digital voting access for participants who have already voted in person, reducing the risk of duplicate voting and improving process consistency.

In addition to the governance-related features above, Vocdoni App 2.3 includes several improvements aimed at simplifying administration and access.

Google Sign-on

Vocdoni App 2.3 adds Google Sign-on, including the ability to link an existing Vocdoni account to a Google account.

Plan usage visibility

This release improves visibility into plan usage, helping organizations track current consumption and anticipate plan limits more clearly.

Italian language support

Vocdoni App 2.3 adds Italian localization, expanding accessibility for organizations operating in Italian-speaking regions. The Associazione Termotecnica Italiana (Sezione Friuli Venezia Giulia) has already used it in their latest AGM, and we thank them for their collaboration in reviewing and validating the translation to ensure clarity and accuracy for Italian-speaking users.
